About Us
Sherman
School is located in the scenic town of Sherman, in western
Connecticut. Our town is north of Danbury, sits at the northern end of
Candlewood Lake and borders New York. We are a rural community of 23.4
square miles with a population, estimated at 3,100.
Our one-school
district consists of approximately 450 students in Pre-Kindergarten
through 8th grade. There are three sections of all but one grade level.
Our Middle School (grades 6-8) is departmentalized with Spanish
beginning in sixth grade. Our special classes include physical
education, music and art. Instrumental music instruction begins in
fourth grade. Technology is integrated into the curricula with the use
of two mobile computer labs, one stationary computer lab and classroom
computers. Four special education teachers service the student
population. Remedial reading and math is provided for students in need.
Guidance and psychological services are also available. Sherman School
is an excellent pre-kindergarten through eighth grade school and our
high school students have a choice of area schools to attend.
