Welcome
to the exciting world of Fifth Grade at the Sherman School! As we
embark on our educational journey together, we will explore exciting
topics such as our American Revolution, the Solar System, an exciting and challenging hands-on Math Program, and many exciting Short Stories and Novels!
Who is Mr. Carley?

Mr. Carley is originally from Trumbull, CT where he
graduated high school in 1994. He attained a bachelors degree in
English and Elementary Education from Western Connecticut State
University. While at WCSU, Mr. Carley played four years of
college football, and before teaching at the Sherman School, Mr. Carley
coached football at Western for three years following his career as a
player. Mr. Carley continued his education by receiving a Masters
of Science and Elementary Education Degree and a Sixth Year Degree in
Education Administration from Southern Connecticut State University.
Along with educating the fine young students of the Sherman
School, Mr. Carley enjoys directing the SPARK after
school program or planning and assisting with the school plays and
talent shows. In his past time, Mr. Carley enjoys working as a
part time musician, spending time hiking and fishing, and coaching football. Mr. Carley currently lives in Newtown with his wife, Lindsey (a fifth grade teacher also), his two sons, Ben and Will, and their Yellow Lab, Murphy!
