Connecticut Nutmeg Reading Program

Each year in March, Mrs. Julie Scanlon, children's coordinator at the Sherman Library Association, and Mrs. Anne Krieg order books which have been selected as Connecticut Nutmeg Nominees for the next year. In past years fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students will vote the next January on their favorite. This year for the first time, books were also nominated to be read by seventh and eighth graders.  In November before voting in January, Nutmeg Readers are invited to a "Library Sleep-in". For more information, see the official web site at www.nutmegaward.org/ where there are pictures and annotations for each book.
