Working at Sherman School is the best experience of my career! I've gotten to teach a variety of sensational students and subjects. Parents and the entire community support my work and are very generous in expressing appreciation, as evidenced by honoring me as Teacher of the Year '12/'13. On a daily basis, I'm learning from my students and colleagues. It is definitely inspiring and invigorating. This school year will be especially challenging for all of us! Together, we can make it the most rewarding to date! I am certified to teach in Regular Ed. and Special Ed. in both Connecticut and New York State, I have worked at The Kennedy Child Study Center in N.Y.C., as Diagnostic Teacher in the Developmental Learning Lab At Croton- on-Hudson's Carrie E. Tompkins' Elementary School, and also as a Special Ed. Teacher in New Fairfield Middle School, as well as Pembrook School in Danbury. For years, I also ran my own business as a Special Ed. Consultant. It is in that capacity I first began to work for Sherman School. I joined the faculty in the fall of 2001. In spite of the ongoing changes and increasing time constraints and responsibilities, striving to be a"master" teacher remains my goal. Teaching is more than a job to me, it is my vocation! In addition to working with my students and colleagues, I most enjoy spending time with family and friends by Candlewood Lake in New Fairfield, on the Gulf in Venice Florida, and in the surf at Ocean City, New Jersey. Reading, writing, biking, and cooking are my favorite pastimes. I especially love to sing and dance, although, I do neither well! My best friend and husband of 43 years is Bob McEvoy. We've been blessed with three wonderful kids (young adults) Mike, Dan, and Katy. Roma, Mike's wife and Dan's wife, Ashley are my lovely daughters-in-law! Molly Elizabeth is our precious 3 year old granddaughter, and we are all anxiously awaiting the arrival of her baby sister, due to be born the day before Valentine's Day, 2017!

As you can see, my family, friends, and teaching are my life's passions, and I'm lucky to spend each day doing what I love best with those I love most!
