Library Policies

While we won't always be in the library for lessons, books are available for students to read and enjoy.

Borrowing:

The expectation is that books are due back one school week after check-out.  Items may be renewed indefinitely unless they are on hold for another student. Students will need to bring the book to the library to be renewed.

Kindergarten and 1st Grade: May check out one item at a time
2nd and 3rd grade: May check out two items
4th grade through 8th grade: May check out three items.  Student volunteers (Grades 6, 7, and 8) will be allowed a fourth item.

The library does not charge overdue fees, but please encourage your student(s) to be responsible for the materials checked out by returning them promptly for others to enjoy.   Students will receive both verbal and/or written reminders of overdue materials.

Accidents Happen! If an item your child has checked out is lost or damaged, please contact me or the library para via email or a note through your child.  We will let you know what to do next.  Some damage can be repaired by library staff, but if an item is lost or irreparably damaged, the staff will request payment to cover the cost of the item.  The library staff will then purchase a replacement copy constructed with library-bound materials. Library-bound materials are more durable than typical binding, so please do not purchase a replacement copy from your favorite vendor.
