I am aware that meetings have been held, and numerous emails, media posts and letters have been circulated regarding concerns about the proposed 2017-2018 Budget as well as other related factors. Some of the information that I have seen and heard is true, accurate and factual. However, I maintain my own concern that there are also a great deal of erroneous details being stated as facts -- too many for me to address in this letter.
My goal in writing this letter is very straightforward. I am not asking that you agree with decisions that are being made, I am simply asking that you seek accurate information so that you can judge all decisions appropriately. If you desire to learn more about our Budget and details concerning next year, here are a few things you can do:
- Call, email, or request a meeting with me, either individually or as a group. My email is in the body of this letter and I can be reached by phone at 860-355-2775. That is my direct line and you are welcome to use it.
- Attend a Superintendent's Coffee. I have planned seven Coffees between now and the end of year which were communicated in a letter dated March 15. The next few will take place on and in the Sherman Cafeteria.
- Attend a Board of Education meeting. Our next Board meeting is. The Board has committed to set aside time to read into record written comments or questions that are proposed in advance. Those questions can be emailed to Rowland Hanley (email@example.com) or to me (firstname.lastname@example.org). I will also do my best to respond to operational questions that are received.

Thank you so much for your continued support. We look forward to hearing from you.
