Sherman School has a commitment to ensure all students are provided with the individualized support needed to be successful. While historically there has been a process in place for providing primarily academic interventions in mathematics and reading, known as Scientifically Research-Based Interventions (SRBI), we have seen an increased need for a more holistic approach that supports social emotional (SEL), behavioral, and other more diverse student needs. This has led to a change in our intervention program to move toward what is known as a Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) model. MTSS is a nationally recognized, evidence-based framework for integrating academic and social/emotional/behavioral interventions.
