Our Art program closely follows the recently adopted CT State and National Visual Arts Standards. The new standards provide the comprehensive overview and structure of our program. Lessons and projects build on one another sequentially. Working with many different media, students have the opportunity to further develop, expand and refine those technical skills introduced in earlier grades. Media includes tempera, acrylics, watercolors, pastels, oil pastels, papier mâché materials and clay.
Student learning objectives are linked to developing each student's understanding of historical art origins as well as preparing them for future challenges.
