Susan Seeger

Susan Seeger
Mrs. Seeger's PhotoSusan has been a member of the BOE since January 2014. She and her husband moved to Sherman in 1996 and they have four children. Leaving the corporate world to raise her children, Susan has been an at-home-mom for 27 years and has dedicated her “free time” to her community. She is an active member and past president of the Sherman School PTO and has served on the Shepaug Valley High School parent council. She coached the Sherman School Odyssey of the Mind program both at the middle school and high school levels, and advanced to the World Finals twice. In 2005 Susan was awarded the Friends of Education Award, in 2008 the CT Association of Elementary School Principals Volunteer Recognition Award, and the Sherman PTO Appreciation Award in 2011. Along with devoting her time to the Board of Education, she has served on the Sherman Library Board of Trustees, continues to volunteer with the Sherman Historical Society and chairs the Matthew’s Hearts of Hope Organization’s annual gala, which has raised tens of thousands of dollars for the research and awareness of Children’s Heart Defects.

Susan will tell you her greatest joy has been being blessed with the opportunity to make a difference in a child’s life, not only her own, but those in her community.
