James and Kara have lived in Sherman for more than 18 years with their three children, all of them have attended The Sherman School. James is owner of J.P. Gifford Market, Giffords Catering and J.P. Gifford Cafe, he has 25 plus years of experience in the Hospitality business. He graduated from the Culinary Institute of America with an AOS in Culinary Arts, and earned his business degree in Hotel, Restaurant & Institutions Management from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. During that time, he taught culinary arts and restaurant management to undergraduates at the university. James is excited to work with the Board and community members to address important issues meaningful to the Sherman community.
