School Lunch & Food Services

At Sherman School, we know that nutritious, delicious meals are essential for fueling growing minds and bodies. As we navigate our exciting school building renovation, our food services program is undergoing a temporary transition designed to support our local community before shifting to a state-of-the-art dining experience.

Our 2026–2027 Food Service Transition Plan

To accommodate our campus construction timeline, our meal services will roll out in two distinct phases this school year:

Phase 1: Fall 2026 (Temporary Footprint)

While we operate out of our temporary school footprint, we will not have direct physical access to a standard cafeteria or working kitchen.

  • Our New Provider: EdAdvance will officially take over as our primary lunch and food service provider.

  • Menu & Ordering: Detailed ordering procedures and curated menus from EdAdvance will be shared with families ahead of the first day of school. Without a kitchen to accommodate on site cooking, meals will be prepped in Litchfield and transported to Sherman School each day. Due to the lack of equipment to keep food warm throughout multiple lunch waves, our menu will focus on more temperature stable or easily cooled foods such as sandwiches and salads.

Phase 2: January 2027 (Moving Home!)

When we officially move back into our fully renovated main school building in January 2027, our permanent food service program will launch.

  • Onsite Scratch Chef: Our brand-new, state-of-the-art school kitchen will feature an onsite scratch chef dedicated to cooking fresh, wholesome, and delicious meals from scratch daily.

  • Breakfast Service Timeline: Morning breakfast service will formally be introduced once our newly established lunch routine is running smoothly. Please note that while we don't have an exact start date yet, the breakfast program will not roll out until at least February 2027.

National School Lunch & Breakfast Programs

Through our strategic partnership with EdAdvance, Sherman School will be formally participating in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the School Breakfast Program (SBP) once we move into the renovated building.

This federal partnership guarantees that all school meals served meet strict, science-based nutritional standards aligned with the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. It also ensures that qualifying families will have seamless access to free or reduced-price meals. Complete application packets for this program will be distributed to all families in the fall.

Modernizing Our Digital Meal Accounts

We are upgrading our electronic payment processing systems to make managing your child's lunch accounts simpler and more transparent.

  • Paying Past Balances: If your family has an outstanding lunch balance from the 2025–2026 school year, you may still log into PaySchools Central to completely clear and settle those funds.

  • Switching to MySchoolBucks: Beginning in Fall 2026, Sherman School is officially transitioning to MySchoolBucks for all active meal accounts. This user-friendly platform will allow you to securely deposit funds, monitor daily cafeteria purchases, set up low-balance alerts, and schedule automatic payments through a dedicated mobile app or browser.

Registration links and step-by-step account setup profiles for MySchoolBucks will be sent directly to parent emails prior to the start of the school year.
