LeekinPrior to joining The Sherman School, Dr. Leekin spent 15 years in various roles supporting special education students.  She spent 11 years as a special education teacher in the Danbury Public Schools where she taught in both a resource classroom and in a co-teaching model on the elementary level.  Dr. Leekin also worked in the Stamford Public Schools for three years as an IEP Compliance Coordinator for the elementary and high school levels.  Most recently, Dr. Leekin has served as an Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services for the Weston Public Schools.  

Dr. Leekin received a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Students with Disabilities as well as a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Manhattanville College.  She also holds an educational administrator license from Sacred Heart University.
